Carolyn Edmondson Holcomb

Carolyn Edmondson Holcomb died peacefully on March 16, 2015 after a brief illness. She was born on August 21, 1939 in Brooks County, GA to John David and Fannie Bourquin Edmondson.

She is survived by her three children, Tami Anderson, Tonya Boylston and Bryce Holcomb, Jr., her five grandchildren, Bobby Boylston, Rachel and Whit Anderson and Hannah and Madison Holcomb and her brothers, Dr. Steve Edmondson and Carl Edmondson.

Carolyn attended public schools in Brooks County graduating in 1957. She then graduated with an R.N. degree from Grady School of Nursing in 1960 and later graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Anesthesia in 1966. She was one of the first female nurse anesthetist in Georgia.

She was married to Bryce W. Holcomb in 1960. They lived in Gainesville, GA for 33 years where Carolyn practiced anesthesia at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Lanier Park Hospital. The last 10 years of her practice were with Gwinnett Anesthesia Services
