James G. (Greg) DeLong

James G. "Greg" DeLong, 63, of Deland, Florida passed away Friday March 13, 2015.

Greg was born May 6, 1951 in Cumming, GA. He was a member of Sand Hill Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He was passionate about his family and friends and always enjoyed being in their company. Greg was a kind and helping person who was always willing to take care of others. He was well known and respected throughout the community. He owned and operated Greg DeLong Stucco and lathe and was in the construction industry since 1987 in central Florida. Greg graduated from Cocoa High School in Cocoa, FL. He was loved by his family and many friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, John DeLong and Carol Whitaker; and brother, John "Tony" DeLong.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sandy DeLong, his devoted daughter, Heather Delong, Deland, FL; son, Brian Dawson; sisters and brothers in law, Debbie and Jeff Brown, Sandy and Rick Kritikos, Daren DeLong; grandchildren, Haley DeLong-Neal, James Anthony DeLong-Neal, Kyra DeLong-Neal; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held at Lankford Funeral Home in Deland, Florida on Wednesday March 18, 2015 from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8.

Funeral services will be held Monday March 23, 2015 at 1 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Scott Sorrels will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon on Monday.
