Virgil B. Howington

Mr. Virgil B. Howington, age 75 of Gainesville, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend David Meacham will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Howington was born December 2, 1939 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late J. B. Howington and Sarah Ozzie Roberts Howington. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from General Motors. Virgil was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Howington, his parents and his brother, Ray Howington.
Mr. Howington is survived by his soul mate, Nan Pruitt of Jefferson, his son, Mack Howington of Alabama, his daughter, Roxanne Hope of Gainesville, his daughter & son-in-law, Michelle & Phillip Gosnell of Alabama, his son & daughter-in-law, Tracy E. & Tracy L. Howington of Braselton, his brother, David Howington of Cleveland, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
