Charles Jerry Clark, age 77, passed away on March 16, 2015, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia following an extended illness.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kay Walls Clark; his granddaughter and husband, Rachael and Clay Beck; his daughter-in-law and husband, Kim and Jim Kincaid; and siblings, Jimmy Clark, Edward Clark, Joe Clark, Diane Jordan, Janet Turner, and Joan Melton. Also, in honorable mention are Tommy Clark, Jack Clark, Donald Clark, Tex Webb, Charlie Boyd, and Hollis Crocker.
He is preceded in death by his son, Charles Christopher "Kit" Clark; and sister, Jean Coats.
Mr. Clark was born on August 19, 1937, in Dawsonville, Georgia to parents Joseph Dayton "Dayt" Clark and Lucile Stowers Clark. He graduated from Riverbend High School in 1955. After graduation he accepted a position as an electrician at Thompson Electric Company, where he worked for several years before becoming a small aircraft and helicopter mechanic in the United States Army for two years, which led to his position with Unisys Corporation as a computer engineer; retiring in 1991. He is well known for his positions with Satterfield's Sporting Goods and Shuler's Sporting Goods, in the archery and fishing departments.
Jerry was a very social, active man who deeply enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, archery, and bowling for the majority of his life. His family and friends will always remember him as a knowledgeable, entertaining, and energetic person.
The family will be holding a private ceremony in his honor to be determined at a later date. The family would like to thank the hospice and medical staff at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for their continued support and care.
