James E. Trammell

Mr. James E. Trammell, 78 of Gainesville died Sunday March 15, 2015.

Born in Clayton, Alabama, Mr. Trammell had lived in Hall County for over 50 years. He was the son of the late James Franklin and Anges Jones Trammell and was retired from Davidson Mineral Properties where he was the General Manager. Mr. Trammell was a member and deacon of Sardis Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Laura Trammell, Gainesville; daughters, Terry Skipper, Buford; Deneen Trammell, Gainesville; grandchildren, Blake Skipper and Zach Skipper; half sisters, Jeanette Blalock, Birmingham, Alabama; Sue Henry, Dothan, Alabama; Jimmie Escher, Eufala, Alabama. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Trammell is preceded in death by his parents, son, James Timothy Trammell, grandchild, Kyle Skipper, sister, Velela Hurst, and a half sister, Frances Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 18, 2015 at the Sardis Baptist Church. Pastor Stan Peck and Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Scott Culpepper officiating. The remains will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour. The family has asked that the deacons of Sardis Baptist Church serve as honorary pallbearers and please assemble at the church at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or Don Jackson Missionary.
