Larry R. Plants

Larry Robert Plants, age 50 died Monday, March 16, 2015 at New Horizon's Lanier Park in Gainesville, Georgia.


Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Hoyt, Kansas.


Larry was born in Shawnee Mission, Kansas on September 29, 1964. He grew up in both Texas as well as North Carolina. Larry was a 1984 graduate of Grimsley High School, Greensboro, NC. He spent the past 28 years in Gainesville, GA. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville. He attended the Guest House Adult Day Care for 17 years. Larry lived with his parents until moving to New Horizons Lanier Park in February 2014, where he became a beloved resident.


Larry is survived by his parents, Robert D. and Mildred S. Plants, his sister, Linda K. Plants and his nephew, Peter J. Plants. He is also survived by a large extended family in Kansas.


In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to The Guest House Adult Daycare of Challenged Child and Friends, Inc. Larry was described by a close friend as "hard head, stubborn, and determined, yet a Good Buddy always, with a quick grin and mischievous sparkle in his eyes.
