James R. King

James R. King, 78, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday March 15, 2015 at The Oaks at Hampton following a period of declining health.

Born September 3, 1936 in Pierce County, Georgia, he had lived in Dawson County over 34 years having moved from Lawrenceville. Mr. King earned a degree in Civil Engineering and for 30 years he owned and operated King Grading Contractors and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. James was very devoted to his family and church and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Coleen Wheeler.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Dana C. King, Dawsonville; children, Cindy King, Dawsonville, Jim King, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Danielle King, Josh King, and Ciarra King.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 18, 2015 at 11 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roland Barlowe will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
