Together, they instilled in their children an appreciation for education and learning, and a strong sense of personal and social responsibility. She was an avid quilter and her works are cherished by the many people who received them from her. She led an active life and had diverse interests, but her real joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was honorary grandmother to many children of family and friends over the years, and because of her love and care, they, too, thought of her as "Nana". She loved people and was a devoted friend. Mrs. Holbrook was an active member of Clarkesville Baptist Church, a community volunteer in many humanitarian causes, and was well known for her compassion and support for those in need. She was loving and Christian in spirit and deed, and will be missed by all.
