Joanne Mealor Sosebee

Mrs. Joanne Mealor Sosebee, age 75 of 116 Hemphill Street, Toccoa passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.



A daughter of the late Milton and Edna Thrasher Mealor, she was born October 31, 1939 in Stephens County where she lived all of her life. Joanne was a 1957 graduate of Toccoa High School where she was a member of the Toccoa High School varsity basketball team; she retired from Patterson Pump. A member of Grace Baptist Church and a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. A member of the Toccoa Pilot Club, she enjoyed Golf and her Bridge Club. She was a volunteer at the Stephens County Historical Society.



Survivors include a daughter, Claire Sosebee and a son Bud Sosebee both of Toccoa, 2 grandchildren John and Julia Sosebee, 2 sisters Jane Watkins of Gainesville, GA, Gail Turner of Roswell, GA, a number of nieces and nephews.



A memorial service will be held 2 PM, Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Grace Baptist Church with The Reverend Don Scott and The Reverend Shawn Croninger officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.



The family request in lieu of flowers memorials to be made in her memory to the Grace Baptist Church, 157 Moore Circle, Eastanollee, GA 30538 or the Stephens County Historical Society, 160 N. Alexander Street, Toccoa, GA 30577.
