James David Baxley, 63, of Gainesville, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 11th, 2015, at his residence following an extended illness. James was born on November 12th, 1951, in Savannah, Georgia, and raised by his adoptive parents, the late David and Martha Easom Baxley. James is survived by his wife Peggy M. Baxley of Gainesville, Georgia, sons Charles David Baxley of Gainesville, Georgia, and Jason Todd Montgomery of Ban Chang, Thailand, daughter-in-law May Montgomery, two grandsons, David and William, his one sister Donna Culver of Savannah, Georgia, four sisters-in-law, Kathy, June, Blair, and Linda, three brothers-in-law, Carl, Buddy, and Bill, as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and five dogs Lainey, Ollie, Kesha, Charlie and Gretchen.
James was a self-employed civil designer and a volunteer at the Hall County Animal Shelter. Everyone who knew James could see his compassion through his love for animals. James grew up by the water and always carried a dream to live by the sea again one day.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, March, 15th, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. to celebrate and remember James' life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FAST Friends of Hall County Animal Shelter through their website at www.fastfriendshcas.com/#!donate/ctzx
