Beverly Ann Rossi Adams

Mrs. Beverly Ann Rossi Adams, age 80, of 4328 Nub Garland Road, Toccoa, GA , passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Habersham County Medical Center in Demorest, GA.

Beloved only daughter of the late Joseph Phillip and Edith Wickstrom Rossi, Beverly was born July 14, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY. She married George A. Adams on December 3, 1955 in Brooklyn. She lived most of her life in New York (Brooklyn and Central Islip) and the last 20 years in Toccoa. A graduate of The Brooklyn Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Adams was a retired nurse who worked at The Brooklyn Hospital in NY, as well as for a surgeon in private practice.

Beverly was a deeply devoted follower of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served him from an early age. She was baptized and confirmed and married husband George in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, NY. After their wedding Mr. and Mrs. Adams joined Clarendon Road Church (Christian and Missionary Alliance) in Brooklyn where they were active members and served as Sunday school teachers and in other leadership roles. In 1957 Beverly served as a counselor for the Billy Graham Crusade held in Madison Square Garden in New York.

After a move out to Long Island, the Adams family joined the Alliance church in Commack, NY where Beverly led a girl's Bible study group. As their first three children were approaching school age, George and Beverly joined the First Baptist Church of Central Islip (closer to home) where they raised all their five children and formed lifelong friendships. Beverly taught Vacation Bible School, served as VBS director for many years, hosted the women's neighborhood outreach Bible study in her home, and coordinated the church's prayer chain.

While raising five children Beverly enrolled in college and earned her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Suffolk County Community College maintaining a 4.0 average and appearing on the dean's list. When the two youngest children were in high school, Beverly completed a refresher course in nursing at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, NY and then worked both at the hospital and as a private duty nurse.

When Beverly and George moved to Georgia, they joined Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Toccoa, where Beverly coordinated the prayer chain, served in a variety of capacities in VBS, and was active in The Women's Bible Study.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, George A. Adams Sr., daughter Margit Elisabeth Adams of Toccoa, son and daughter-in law George A. (Jr.) and Jolee Adams of Castle Rock, CO, daughter and son-in-law Edith and Greg Walton of Orlando, FL, son and daughter-in-law William and Elizabeth Adams of Smithtown, NY, daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Anthony Ceccarini of Holbrook, NY., 9 grandchildren (Alex, Tim, Emily, Michael, Rachel, Erik, Jack, Courtney, and Alexandra), 2 granddaughters-in-law (Angie and Megan), and 1 great-granddaughter (Noelle Joy).

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Toccoa with Reverend Greg Walton and Reverend David Kehret officiating.

A memorial fund will be established at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Toccoa, GA.
