Margie Nell Harris Sanders

Obituary Date: Friday, March 6, 2015
Margie Nell Harris Sanders, age 78 of Homer died Friday, March 6, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Sanders was born in Gillsville to the late, Joe and Pearl Peppers Harris. Mrs. Sanders was retired from Georgia Mountain Planning and Development, member of Homer Baptist Church, she was a charter member of the Homer Historical Society, charter member of the Phi Delta order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 542, member of Banks County AARP chapter # 3276, served as a board member of the Banks County Housing Authority, and she loved everybody. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sanders was also preceded in death by her husband, Max Sanders, Sr.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Hall and Deborah Lacey (Rickey) both of Homer; son, Max Sanders (Susan) of Homer; brothers, William, John, and James Harris all of Gillsville and Howard Harris of Commerce; sisters, Ruth and Mary Parson both of Gillsville; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 PM from Homer Baptist Church with Rev. Shannon Rhodes and Rev. James Dumas officiating with the interment following at Banks Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday night from 6-8 PM.
