Jonathan "Jon" Blake Tanner, age 28, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
Jon was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and of the Baptist faith. He worked as a truck driver for Don Payne Trucking. He lived a short but full life, and would always say, "Keep the mud flying high." There was never a dull moment when he was around, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Davis; and uncles, Larry Tanner and Jerry Davis.
Jon is survived by his mother, Betty Tanner, Dahlonega, GA; wife, Staci Tanner, Dahlonega, GA; children, Georgia, Trevor, and Skyler; step-son, Tyler; sister and brother-in-law, Samantha and Joseph Smith; sister, Cierra Price, all of Dahlonega, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Heath and Brandy Christy, Winder, GA; uncles and aunts, Tommy and Pam Tanner, Dahlonega, GA; Ronnie and Judy Tanner, Acworth, GA; Brenda and Mark Ricketts, Dahlonega, GA; aunt, Bennie Tanner, Dahlonega, GA; and niece, Katyann Smith. A number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Jon are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.
Rev. Joe Simmons and Rev. Jason Moon will officiate.
Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 4 PM until 9 PM on Friday, March 6, 2015 and from 9 AM until time of service on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Banister Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
