Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Eleanor Ruth Howard Blankenship, age 83, of Commerce, who passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015. Mrs. Blankenship was born in Ficklin, Georgia, the daughter of the late Guy W. Howard and the late Dolly Tanner Howard. Mrs. Blankenship was a member of the Dry Pond United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Jolly Agers. Mrs. Blankenship was a Homemaker, but in her spare time enjoyed being a Seamstress and a Cake Decorator. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her brother, Carlos Howard.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Mack Blankenship of Commerce; daughters and son in laws, Diane and Robert Bonasso of Carolina, West Virginia, Judy and Andrew Brislin of Bishop, Peggy Spangler of Lawrenceville, Sarah and Charlton Trippe of Commerce; brother, Wilburn Howard of Tucker; 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Granchildren also survive.
The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 3:00pm in the Dry Pond United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig Murray officiating. The body will lie in state in the Church on Sunday, from 2:30pm
