Susan Rink

Susan Rink, 66, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday February 28, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born November 22, 1948 in Syracuse, New York to the late Ralph and Elizabeth Wolfe, Mrs. Rink had been a resident of Dawsonville since 1999. She began a career as a teacher in East Syracuse, NY after which she taught in Apex, NC and then in the Forsyth County School System where she retired after teaching for 41 years. A member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Dawsonville, she loved reading, travelling to The Outer Banks of North Carolina, and her pig collectables. A loving grandmother, her grandchildren were her life.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Gordon Rink, Dawsonville; sons and daughter in law, Steven Rink, Dawsonville, Kevin and April Rink, McAdenville, NC; daughter and son in law, Christie and Phillip Hughes, Sandy Springs, GA; sister, Carole Thorp, Boyertown, PA; three grandchildren, Matthew Rink, Abagail Rink, Bennett Rink, and a forth grandson, Nolan Hughes, due in May.

Memorial services will be held Thursday March 5, 2015 at 4 o'clock at Bethel United Methodist Church. Dr. Orin Sampson will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Silver City Elementary School Library, 6200 Dahlonega Hwy., Cumming, GA 30028.
