Ervin Warren Head

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday March 2, 2015 at Ward's Funeral Home Chapel for Ervin Warren Head age 89 of Gainesville. The Rev. Lanier Tatum will officiate. Interment will be on Wednesday March 4, 2015 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Head passed away Friday February 27, 2015.

Mr. Head was born in Philomath, Georgia to the late Lois Jennings Head and Mamie Dee Nash Head. While attending school at Gainesville Mill Elementary, he told his teacher Mrs. Taylor that he was going in the military and he was going to Japan and find the girl that was going to be his wife. In 1942 he joined the U.S. Navy and was later stationed in Japan where he met his loving wife Kim. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1966 and later retired in 1986 from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the V.F.W., F.R.A. (Fleet Reserve Association), A.P.W.U. (American Postal Workers Association) and was a member of Centeral Baptist Church.

Survivors include Wife of 62 years, Kim Head, Gainesville, Sons, Edwin Head, Gainesville, Dave Head, Gainesville, Daughter-in-Law, Marissa Head, Cumming, Brother and Sister-in-Law, M.L. "John" and Artis Head, Gainesville, Grandchildren, Laramy Head, Gainesville, Ryu Head, Cumming, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
