Betty Emma Payne Thompson

Mrs. Betty Emma Payne Thompson age 80 of Gainesville passed away on Thursday February 19, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday February 22, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Michael Clark will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday February 21, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.


Mrs. Thompson was born March 29, 1934 in Cumming, Georgia to the late Arnold and Lucinda Redd Payne. She was a retired certified nursing aid with Cumming Convalescent Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 20 years, Wiley M. Thompson, grand-son, Douglas Ryan Thompson, brother, Paul Payne, and sister, Ruby Payne Holley


Survivors include, sons, Douglas Thompson of Gainesville, Ken Thompson of Colorado, son and daughter in law, Ronald and NaSheala Thompson of Cumming, 5 grandsons, and 2 grand-daughters, and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
