Jerry Edward Long

Mr. Jerry Edward Long, age 64 of 501 Long Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A son of Victorene Rider Long and the late Fred Long, he was born October 27, 1950 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was formerly employed with Big Star Supermarket as Produce Manager and was a member of Old Toccoa Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Victorene Rider Long of Toccoa; daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Larry Speed of Baldwin, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tracey Long of Anderson, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Corey Smith, Makayla Long and Brady and Whitney Long; brother and sister-in-law, Freddie and Brenda Long of Toccoa; two nephews and one niece.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 20, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend David Sosebee, The Reverend Dr. Steve Hurte and Mr. Danny Yearwood officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jamie Long, Mason Long, Doug Anderson, Marvin Dunson, Ricky Wilbanks and Michael Wilbanks.

The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Speed, 311 Wilbanks Road, Baldwin, Georgia and will receive friends at The Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will be in the Old Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Jerry Edward Long.
