Wanda Buffington

Mrs. Wanda Buffington, 92, formerly of Avondale Estates, GA, passed away at Gracemont Assisted Living in Cumming, GA, Feb 11th, 2015.

She was born October 30, 1922, in Pulaski County, Georgia, daughter of the late Oscar and Allen Stokes. She is also preceded in death by her husband James "Jack" Buffington, her sister Camilee S. Wright, and brother, Homer Stokes.

She worked at Emory University in the 1960's and with her husband in his real estate and property management business until his death in l979. She had been a member of various clubs and organizations including Avon Garden Club, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Senior University, and Model "A" Restorers Club.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Beth Buffington, Habersham County, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Ernie Fox, Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Bill and Cathleen Freeman, Woodstock, GA; Daniel Buffington and Sarah Daniels, Wilmington, NC; Marianne Freeman, Dawsonville, GA; five great-grandchildren, Abigail, Caroline and Elena Freeman, Andrew and Jake Hyder.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Sunday morning.
