Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Rev. Melvin Curtis "Bozie" Greene, age 74, of Jefferson, who passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Rev. Greene was born in Commerce, Georgia, a son to the late Henry and Irene Minish Greene, was retired from the UGA Electrical Department after 30 years of service as a lineman, was a Minister and a member of the River of Life Church in Nicholson, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and loved to fish with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Rev. Greene is preceded in death by his son, Myron Greene, and four brothers, James, Ralph, Larry and Herman Greene.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Lynda Howington Greene of Jefferson; daughter, Sandy McAllister and her husband Todd of Jefferson; brothers, Bobby Greene and his wife Pam of Jefferson, Ray Greene and his wife Linda of Danielsville; sisters, Emma Elrod of Hull, Fay Barnett and her husband Billy of Jefferson; 6 grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Katelyn, Alexis, Colin and Faith. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 3:00pm in the River of Life Church, Nicholson, Georgia with Rev. Bobby Ivester and Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. The body will lie in state from 2:30 pm
