James 'Jim' Green

James "Jim" Green, age 73, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lillie Mae Abney Green; and brother, Floyd Flowers Green. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four and a half years, Judith "Judy" Townsend Green, Sugar Hill, GA; children, David and Theresa Green, Mt. Olive, AL and Belinda Hill, Tyrone, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Green and Tyler Hill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda Faye and Douglas Hutto, Orlando, FL and Reba and Albert Vandegriff, Birmingham, AL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Green was born January 25, 1942 in Birmingham, AL. He was a 1959 graduate of Phillips High School in Birmingham, AL. He was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard. He was retired from Fortel Medical as a Laser Tech for six years. He was a member of the Buford Church of God where he was also an usher and a Sunday school teacher. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Buford Church of God with Pastor Joey Grizzle and Pastor Edward Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends at Buford Church of God on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Donors Services, P. O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202 in memory of Jim Green.
