Fannie Pearl Thomas Garrett

On Saturday, February 7, 2015, Fannie went to meet our Lord and Savior in the Kingdom of Heaven, following a brief illness. Fannie was 62 years of age.

Fannie was born in October in the year of our Lord; 1952 on the 12th day. She was born to her Mother, Pearl Aileen Clayton Thomas and her father, Nathan Luke Thomas of Blairsville. Fannie had two brothers and two sisters; Eddie and Nathan and Dorothy and Frances. She graduated from Union County high School and then moved to Gainesville where she found Danny Albert Garrett and was married on September 5th, 1971.




Fannie had worked at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega for over 25 years and was a proud member of Christian Community Church.




Fannie was a survivor of Lymphoma and was in remission for going on two years.




Fannie was a very proud mother and grandmother. She worked hard and always strived to make everyone around her smile. She enjoyed hugs! Her smile would warm your heart and make your day brighter.




Fannie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Danny Garrett; and her brother, Eddie.




Fannie is survived by her children; daughter and son-in-law, Kirstie and Lamar Hampton; daughter, Amanda Garrett; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Georgette Garrett; Brandon and Camille Garrett; son, Barry Garrett. Fannie had 14 grandchildren: Danny, Heather, Adam, Amber, Kassie, Collin, Mia, Benjamin, Ronnie, Samantha, Camren, Anna, Bradley and Dallas; brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Nancy Thomas, her sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Joe Dillard and Frances and LC Fortenberry.




The family will receive family and friends on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 5pm to 8 pm at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel located at 989 Riverside Drive Gainesville, GA; Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11 am will be the "Celebration of Life" ceremony at the funeral home.
