Betty J. Hanson Shell

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Betty J. Hanson Shell, age 79, of Jefferson, who passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015. Mrs. Shell was born in Rome, Georgia, a daughter to the late Leander and Luona Burnette Hanson. Mrs. Shell was retired from IBM, where she worked as a Secretary, and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Clifford P. Shell III of Jefferson; sons, Edward Shell and Steven A. Shell both of Jefferson; brother, Tom Hanson of Dade City, Florida; sisters, Ann Brewster of Chickamauga, GA and Helen Willingham of Dallas, Georgia; and 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Joshua and Shawana.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Wright and Mrs. Diane Wright officiating. The visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am on Wednesday morning at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service. The burial will follow on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 1:30pm in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
