Zelma Enid Jarrard

Mrs. Zelma Enid Jarrard, age 91, of Columbia, Tennessee died January 30, 2015.

Zelma was born in Pipestem, West Virginia February 2, 1923.

Zelma worked at Goodyear Aerospace during WWII as an assembly worker. After the war she married John Herbert Jarrard and raised a family. As the years followed she worked as a sales person at various department stores in the Akron, Ohio area. Zelma retired as a Cafeteria Manager from Green School District, Greensburg, Ohio. Zelma retired and moved to Dahlonega, GA with her husband John where they lived for 25 years. With declining health of her husband John they moved to Columbia, Tennessee in 2003 where their son was able to assist in taking care of them.

She was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Zelma was the daughter of the late Shelton What Trail and Vevy Pearl Lane Trail and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Herbert Jarrard who died December 28, 2004; daughter, Johnnie Laurel Jarrard; siblings, Helen Bragg, Ora Holbert, Ina Holland, Mural Shelton Trail, Ardeth Meadows, and Zina Lilley.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyne Faye (Jarrard) Tinsley and her husband, Harold Dean Tinsley; son, Mark Jarrard and his wife, Christine (Bahleda) Jarrard; grandchildren, Sheri (Tinsley) Watkins and her husband, Bob Watkins, Mark Jarrard Jr. and his wife Alesia Jarrard, and John Jarrard; great-grandchildren, Wendi Watkins, Kelsey Watkins, Silas Jarrard, and Zackery James Jarrard.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jarrard are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday February 7, 2015 at the Yahoola Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Friday February 6, 2015 from 5 PM until 9 PM. and again on Saturday Feb. 7, 2015 from 9 AM until service time.
