Mrs. Doris Evelyn Carter Keeling age 87 of 315 Carnes Creek Road, Toccoa passed away Sunday February 1, 2015 at Stephens County Hospital.
A daughter of the late Charles B. and Lilly Finley Carter she was born February 6, 1927 in Stephens County, Georgia. She operated a Children's Day Care in her home for 38 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Keeling in 2007, two brothers Charles B. Carter Jr. and Ray Carter and a sister Dot Cole.
She is survived by two sons Freddy Clark Keeling and Alan Keeling of Toccoa; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Madge and David Evans of Jamesville, North Carolina, Lynn Narrow of Charles City, Virginia, Faye and Hubert Huff of Cumming, Georgia and Charlotte Spencer of Shawboro, North Carolina; a special family, Sam and Dianne Mauldin, Tim and Dene Hicks, Rob and Monica Mauldin, Andy and Matthew Hicks and Hampton Mauldin; number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday February 2, 5 P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 P.M. until 5 P.M. on Monday. Interment will follow in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, David Evans, Tim Hicks, Hubert Huff, Andy Hicks, Rob Maudlin and Matthew Hicks.
