Kathleen Mathis Bellamy

Kathleen Mathis Bellamy, age 88, of Baldwin, Georgia, passed away on Saturday January 31, 2015.

Mrs. Bellamy was born in Jefferson, Georgia on December 23, 1926 to the late Elbert and Ollie Umbehant Mathis. She was a former supervisor with Carwood Manufacturing Company with over ten years service. She retired from the Habersham County School System as a Teacher's Aide with 21 years service. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family, which was her pride and joy. She was a loving wife to her late husband, James P. Bellamy for over 65 years. She was a graduate of Banks County High School where she was class salutatorian.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Yarber.

Mrs. Bellamy is survived by her daughter, Vickie Fowler of Cornelia, daughter and son in law, Robin and David Sanders of Baldwin; sister, Hazel Moss, of Baldwin; grandchildren, Alison Brown of Dahlonega, Amy and Stuart Sugg of Winterville, North Carolina, Becky and Kevin Lomax of Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Addie Brown, Cameron and Noah Sugg, Bailey Lomax; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Baldwin Baptist Church, with Rev. Mark Thomas, Rev. Mike Campbell and David Sanders officiating. Interment will be in the Baldwin City Cemetery.
