Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015, in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home for Herman Clarence "Chic" Harden, 83, of Chicopee, who died January 29 after a brief illness. The visitation was Sunday, February 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home. He will be interred in Alta Vista Cemetery.

After spending some time as a public school teacher, he went to work for Chicopee Mill in the quality assurance area until he retired in 1991.

He was preceded in death by sisters Frances Allison and Edith Elder, of Chicopee; sister, Vera Elder, of Arlington, Texas; and one brother, Eugene Harrison Harden, of Gainesville.

He is survived by one sister, Hazel Reat, of Mount Vernon, Texas, and numerous cousins, nieces, grandnieces, nephews, and grandnephews.
