Johnny B. Fricks, Sr., age 77, of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Allene Cole Fricks; sister and brother-in-law, Willene Fricks Kelley and husband
George L. Kelley; and niece, Patricia Kelley Wilcox. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara Haney Fricks; sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Sandra Simpson Fricks, and William R. and Maria Hauser Fricks; two grandchildren, Joshua Fricks and Andrew Fricks; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda Haney Shields and husband James. Mr. Fricks was born September 18, 1937 to Allene Cole Fricks and Will S. Fricks. His family moved to Buford when Johnny was three years old. He attended Buford schools through the ninth grade. The family then moved to Winder where Johnny graduated in 1955 from Winder-Barrow High School. He was a 1959 graduate of the University of Georgia with a major in finance and insurance. He retired in 1997 from Ford Motor Credit Company after thirty years of service. He was a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford where he was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School class. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Dale and Dr. James Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
