Willie Mae Ward McCommon

WILLIE MAE WARD McCOMMON, age 90, of Gillsville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Northridge Nursing Facility.

Mrs. McCommon was born on November 14, 1924 in Clermont, Georgia to the late Fred and Winnie Jackson Ward. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCommon was preceded in death by her husband, Bill McCommon. Mrs. McCommon was a member of the Diamond Hill Baptist Church. She was retired from New Holland Mill of Gainesville with 65 years of service.

Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Winnie and Swayne Osborn, Homer, GA; her son: Willard McCommon, Gillsville, GA; her sisters: Julia Collett, Versie Wiley, Mable Jean Wiley, all of Lula, GA; her grandchildren and their spouses: Valerie and Jeff Lewallen and Dwayne and Michelle Osborn, all of Homer, GA; 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Chad Hope officiating. Interment will follow in the Diamond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday, January 30, 2015.
