Elizabeth Carol Smith Cobb

Elizabeth Carol Smith Cobb "Mama Carol", 73, of Clayton, GA, went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 26, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Ellijay, GA and was the daughter of the late Cecil Henry Smith and Nell Belle Sellers Smith.



Mama Carol is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Larry Joe Cobb of the home; a son, Jody Cobb and his wife DeAnn of Alto, GA; a daughter, Mandy Cofield and her husband Buck of Lakemont, GA; one sister, June Grier of Fort Worth, Texas; a special cousin, Linda Cowart and her husband Bud of Ballground, GA. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Alyssa Hunt, Ethan Cobb, and Faith Cofield.



She was a 1961 graduate of Gilmer County High School and was a very loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellijay and enjoyed crafting, flower arranging, camping, fishing, gardening and canning.



The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 and Thursday January 29, 2015 from 12 to 1:30 PM. Funeral services will be held in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2015 with Brother Mike Reid officiating. Burial will follow in Wolfcreek Baptist Church Cemetery.
