Peggy L. Watson

PEGGY L. WATSON, age 80, of Demorest, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 26, 2015 following an extended illness.


Mrs. Watson was born on September 21, 1934 in St. Petersburg, FL to the late David William and Lennie Lewis Larkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Rev. Bob Watson, Sr., her son, Bill Watson, and her sister Josephine Moore. Mrs. Watson was a member of the Level Grove Baptist Church where in her later years she enjoyed serving as a Sunday School teacher. She was first and foremost a dedicated mother and Pastor's wife. Mrs. Watson had been employed with Scovill in the human resources department for a number of years and was then associated with Habersham Bank for twenty plus years.


Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Dr. Lynda and Barry Barron, Gainesville, GA; her son and daughter-in-law: Bobby and Susan Watson, Demorest, GA; her sister: Miriam Thompson, St. Petersburg, FL; her brother: David Larkins, Prescott, AR; her grandchildren: April Watson Miller, Robin Watson Moser, Caleb Barron, Brittany Barron; her great grandchildren: Hannah Moser and Ainsley Moser.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Dr. Tom Mewborn, Rev. Barry Barron, and Dr. Tony Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Brian James officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015.
