Hunter, Dorothy- Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Beola Hunter will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015, 1:00 pm at Cross Plains Baptist 3230 Cross Plains Rd, Gainesville, GA 30507. Rev. Larry Devers pastor/eulogist. Internment Cross Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family and friends will assemble at 3993 Thurmond Tanner Road, Gainesville, GA 30542 at 12:00noon.

Dorothy was born on in Gainesville, GA on Sunday, March 7, 1948 to Rufus and Mattie Millsap. She departed this life on Thursday, January 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents Rufus and Mattie Millsap, brothers; John Henry Millsap and Rufus Millsap and sister-in- law Lucienda Millsap.

Dorothy graduated from E.E. Butler High School and continued her education at Atlanta Community College where she received her associate's degree in business.

Dorothy lived in Atlanta and worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company/AT&T for 24 years before she retired. She dedicated 27 years volunteering tirelessly to the Boy Scouts of America. For all of her years of dedication and hard work to the Boy Scouts Dorothy was awarded the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award which is one highest award for a scout leader.

Before returning to Gainesville to live Dorothy was a member of Mt.Pleasant Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. She was a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher, and served on the Mother's Board.

Dorothy is survived by her sons; William ( LaTossia ) Millsap Sr.,Lovie ( Lori ) Millsap Sr. , brothers; Lorenzo Millsap, Jeffery Millsap, and Clay (Noma) Millsap, sisters; Doris Bailey, Estell ( King ) Stringer, and Mattie Millsap,10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
