Agnes Mathis

Agnes Mathis, age 91 of Oakwood went to be with the Lord, Wednesday January 21 following a long battle with Alzheimer's. The last of five children she was born March 11, 1923 to John David and Ellie Cash Williams of Flowery Branch. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.








She was preceded in death by her husband Horace Myron Mathis, daughter, Nancy Ash, infant son Laron, sister Vera Williams, brothers Elmo, Virgil and Grady Williams, grandson Jason Kimberly and great grandson Drew Cline.








She will be missed by daughters Brenda (Andy) Cline, Greensboro, NC, Theda (Olin) Kimberly, Oakwood, son-in-law Butch Ash, Oakwood, grandchildren Alan (Edith) Cline, Greensboro, NC, David (Charlotte) Cline, South Boston, VA, Myron (LeeAnne) Cline, High Point, NC, Julie Kimberly, Oakwood, James Ash, Gainesville, granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Kimberly, Commerce, five great-grandchildren Allyson and Jacob Cline, Caleb Cline, Connor and Cason Kimberly, several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.








Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 24, 2015 at Ward's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. David Cline will officiate. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
