Kenneth Wendell Waters

Kenneth Wendell Waters, age 75, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015.

He was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and had worked for Mohawk Industries Pine Tree Plant in Dahlonega for 50 years. He was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, and had a great love for his family, especially his grandkids.

Kenneth was the son of the late Edgar and Lela Chester Waters, and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clayton Waters and Carlton Waters; sister and brother-in-law, Myral and Roy Frasure; and sister, Opal Southern.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joyce Lingerfelt Waters, Dahlonega, GA; children, Chad Waters and Tammy Tucker, Dahlonega, GA; Chan Waters, Gainesville, GA; Scott and Jennifer Fowler, Athens, GA; Suzanne and Bill McCarter, Dahlonega, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wade and Jeanie Waters, Joe and Evelyn Waters, Ralph and Amy Waters; sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Bobby Kinnard; brother-in-law, Harold Southern; all of Dahlonega, GA; sister-in-law, Bertha Waters, Lula, GA; grandchildren, Madison McCarter, Cody Waters, Bailey Brooksher, Casey Waters, Carter Fowler, and Caiden Fowler. Numerous nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Kenneth are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Kris Butler will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 11 AM until 3 PM and 5 PM until 9 PM on Friday, January 23, 2015, and from 9 AM until service time on Saturday, January 24, 2015.
