Virginia Montgomery

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Ms. Virginia Montgomery, age 83 of Sautee. who passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Tuesday, 27, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Levi Skipper officiating. Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park.

Born on August 7, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana , Ms. Montgomery was the daughter of the late John Alfred Rutherford and Ada Taylor Rutherford. She had lived most of her life in Florida, where she retired from the Dade County School System as an Administrative Assistant in the Vocational Program. She moved to White County in 2011 and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. Ms. Montgomery is preceded in death by her son, Jay Montgomery.

Survivors include her sons, Jim Montgomery (Brenda) of Vero Beach, FL, John Montgomery (Jean) of Gwinn, MI, Jeff Montgomery (Diane) of Sautee and Jerry Montgomery of Miami, FL; brother, Richard Rutherford of Orlando, FL.; sister, Roberta Moak of Moultrie, GA as well as 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 5 to 7pm
