Dorsey Junior Carter

Mr. Dorsey Junior Carter, age 81 of 318 Old Mize Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at his residence.

A son of the late Steve and Oma Franklin Carter, he was born May 3, 1933 in Stephens County where he lived all his life. He was retired from Bibb Company and was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a two granddaughters, Rebecca Faye Carter and Sara, by three brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include his caregiver of the home, Mildred Carter; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Mellisa Schlink Carter and Wayne and Sue Carter both of Toccoa and Dwight and Liza Carter of Demorest; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Thomas Standridge of Toccoa; sister-in-law, Florence Carter of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 22, 2 O'clock PM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Eric Cutshall, The Reverend Lester Cowan and The Reverend Dr. Tommy Childress officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Erick Carter, Nathan Carter, Aaron Carter, Stephen Shiley, Casey McIntyre, Derrick Smith and Timothy Carter.

The family will be at the home on Old Mize Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will be in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Dorsey Junior Carter.
