Robert Morgan Sandhagan

Obituary Date: Sunday, January 18, 2015
Mr. Robert Morgan Sandhagan, age 66, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at his residence following a brief illness.

A native of Fulton County, Robert and Pat had lived in Lumpkin County since 1978. He was an architectural draftsman having worked for large engineering and architectural firms in the Atlanta area. Prior to his retirement, he was self employed and worked with licensed architects designing several homes and businesses in the Dahlonega area.

Robert was a graduate of Dykes High School and attended Southern Tech University. He loved music and was one of the founding members of the "Remember When Band" serving as their long-time rhythm guitarist. He also had a love for restoring antique cars. He was a former member of the Dahlonega Lions Club and also the Lumpkin County Livestock Association where he served one term as president. He served six years in the U.S. Army Reserves and was an active member of Dahlonega Baptist Church.



Robert was preceeded in death by his father, William Bernard Sandhagen. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hardy Sandhagen, mother; Dora Kiser Morgan Sandhagen, brother and sister-in-law; Paul and Carol Sandhagen, Loganville, Ga., brother; Peter Sandhagen, Lawrenceville, Ga., nephews; Rob and Scott Sandhagen. Other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hutcheson officiating. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Powder Springs Cemetery in Powder Springs, Georgia with Rev. Mike Wood officiating. The family will receive friends at Dahlonega Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at Dahlonega Funeral Home.



In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to one of the following charities: Community Helping Place, Genesis Hospice, Sunshine Preschool at Dahlonega Baptist Church.
