Cleo Moss

Miss Cleo Moss, age 89, of Dahlonega, GA died Friday, January 16, 2015 following a period of declining health.

Cleo was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and the owner of Moss Grocery for many years in the Hightower Community. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was the daughter of the late Major and Floye Rider Moss, and was also preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie Lou Edwards, Edith Mincey, and Adell Bruce.

Cleo is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Doris Moss; sisters, Edna Odom, Pauline Rider, Leona Rider, Viola Sheffield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marvene and R.C. Grizzle, and Josie and Ervin Barrett, all of Dahlonega, GA. Numerous nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Cleo are scheduled for 3 PM Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Interment will follow in the Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rev. Terry Fields will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 5 PM until 9 PM Friday, January 16, 2015, and from 9 AM until service time on Saturday, January 17, 2015.

The rest of the family would like to extend a special thank you to her sister, Marvene, who devoted her time in taking care of Cleo.
