Garnett Strickland

Mr. Garnett Strickland, age 76 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Friendship Nursing Home in Cleveland, Georgia following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Wayne Hicks will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Strickland was born July 3, 1938 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Homer Cleveland Strickland and Mamie Ella Goss Strickland. He was self-employed as an Auto Detailer and was a member of Calvary Temple Holiness Church. Garnett was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 33 years, Frances Flanagan Strickland, his brothers, Nelson Strickland and Eddie Strickland, his sister, Madge Roberts and his great-granddaughter, Kinsley Howard.


Mr. Strickland is survived by his stepchildren, Judy & Jimmy Dills of Gainesville, Debbie Patterson of Gainesville, Danny Loggins of Gainesville, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a number of nephews.
