Evelyn Julia Pruitt Roper

Evelyn Julia Pruitt Roper, age 87, of Oakwood passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 following an extended illness. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church of Gainesville, Georgia.

Mrs. Roper was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Inez Pruitt; sister Pat Smith; brother Lemuel Pruitt; granddaughters Stacey Brown and Lori Roper Cadle.

Mrs. Roper is survived by her husband of 72 years, Allen Roper; children Marlon Roper, Gary and Barbara Roper, James Roper, Janice and Bobby Brown, Judy and Leo Lee, Jerry and Janis Roper; grandchildren Keith Brown, Chad Roper, Jamie Lee, Lisa Hayes Roper, Angie Lee Parsons, Emily Roper Hicks, and Justin Lee; sixteen great grandchildren; stepmother Vernell Pruitt; and a host of other family members.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 16, 2015 at 2pm in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Brown and Rev. Tim Biddy officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2015, from 6pm to 8pm and on Friday, January 16, 2015 from noon to 2pm at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank Halcyon Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care for their tender loving care of Mrs. Roper during her illness.
