Lester Tony Sanders

Lester Tony Sanders, 61, of Gainesville passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Halcyon Hospice following an extended illness.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Reverend Scott McQueen will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 5-9 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Sanders was born on September 7, 1953 in Fort Sill, OK to the late Leonard Lester Sanders and Bobbie Nell Wade Bryant. He was self-employed construction worker and also worked with Whitmire Homes. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Tammy Colbert; special aunt, Selma Mae Sanders.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Allyson Sanders of Gainesville; son, Tony Sanders of West Boylston, Massachusetts; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Casey Sanders of Gainesville; grandson, Luke Sanders; nephews, Denver and K.J. Colbert
