Mildred Rose Gravitt Vandiver, 89, of Gainesville, GA., passed away Monday January 12, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
A lifelong resident of Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Reggie and Rosa Overby Gravitt. Mrs. Vandiver was retired from Lyman Hall School having worked in the lunchroom. She was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church and attended Chicopee Baptist Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vandiver is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Vandiver; and brothers, Clay Gravitt and Charles Gravitt.
Mrs. Vandiver is survived by her daughter, Patsy Wilbanks of Cornelia; daughter and son in law, Lynn and Sam Howser of Gainesville; grandson and wife, Bryan and Candace Wilbanks of Cornelia; granddaughter and husband, Andrea and Alan Wallhausen of Clermont, Erica Howser and Fiancé Keenan Cole of Gillsville; great-grandchildren, Skylar Wilbanks, Chesney Wilbanks, Bryce Wilbanks, Shawn Wallhausen, Austin Wallhausen, Kiley Wallhausen,; sister, Eunice Cantrell and brother Lloyd Gravitt both of Gainesville, brother and sister in law, Boyd and Lucy Gravitt of Gainesville and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Darin Vogt will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday January 13, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
