Michael Justin Ward

Michael Justin Ward, age 33, of Gainesville, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015.


He was born in Gainesville, Georgia on January 17, 1981. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry Bryce Ward, Jr. , and grandmother, Annette Patton Ward, and his uncle Fred Ward.


The family will receive visitors at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel Sunday, Jan. 11th from 1 to 2:30 pm with the memorial service to follow at 2:30 pm in the Chapel. The Reverend Jeff Graham will officiate.


Michael graduated from Gainesville High School in 1999. He studied acting at Northwestern University in Natchitoches, LA. He performed professional theatre in the outdoor drama, Tecumseh, in Chillicothe, Ohio, for 3 seasons. He worked at numerous restaurants as a cook, as well as a Rainbow vacuum cleaner salesman and a bounty hunter. He returned to Gainesville in 2011 and graduated from Lanier Technical College with and associate's degree in computers.

Michael was passionate about reading, collecting comic books and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He gave the gift of laughter to all around him. He loved entertaining children and especially being "Uncle Awesome" to his nephews.

He is survived by his parents, John and Barbara Ward; one brother, Matt Ward; his fiancé, Faith Atkins; nephews, Brady Ward and Brendan Atkins; his grandparents Benny and Alba Bennett; grandmother, "Mamma" Sue Ward. In addition, he leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many beloved friends
