Charlie James Blackwell

Mr. Charlie James Blackwell, age 74 of Gainesville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 5, 2015 following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Earl Jarrard and Reverend Hoyt Skelton will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Blackwell was born December 28, 1940 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late John Henry Blackwell and Loudelle Gibbs Blackwell. Charlie was of the Baptist Faith and was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracie Blackwell Majors, his granddaughter, Katie Nicole Burnette and his siblings, Johnny Blackwell, Harold Blackwell and Betty Redmon. He had a degree in Paint & Body and was retired.

Mr. Blackwell is survived by his wife, Louise Blackwell of Gainesville, son & daughter-in-law, Chris & DeeDee Blackwell of Gainesville, son, Tim Blackwell of Gainesville, daughter, Lynn Brooks of Gainesville, grandchildren, Aaron Blackwell, Sharon Broome, Jessie Broome A.J., Angel Blackwell, Jimmy Brooks III, Jamie Brooks, Melanie Majors, Wesley Majors, Jr. and Courtney Brown & Westen and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.
