Carl Hyrns, 79, of Dawsonville passed away Monday January 5, 2015 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born October 1, 1935 in Winter Haven, Florida to the late Oscar and Harriett Hyrns, he had lived in Pickens County since 2008 having moved from Gainesville. Mr. Hyrns worked for 18 years as a cook in Kissimmee, Ft. Walton and Orlando, FL. Until his retirement he was employed at the High Hope Service Center in Lawrenceville. Carl was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. An accomplished singer, for many years he sang in bands in Florida. He was preceded in death by a son, Butch Hyrns.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Evelyn Hyrns, Dawsonville; sons and daughters in law, Dan and Pam Price, Austin, TX, Donnie Price, Dawsonville, Darrell and Tammy Price, Dawsonville; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A visitation in celebration of his life will be held Friday January 9, 2015 from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
