Beatrice P. Guerke

Beatrice P. Guerke, 94, passed away on January 3, 2015 at Ross Memorial Health Care Center in Kennesaw, GA. Born on September 23, 1920 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Elsie Phillips.

Beatrice was a widow to Robert Daniel Guerke, Jr. born on August 1, 1920 to Robert Daniel, Sr. and Mable Guerke of Baltimore, MD. Beatrice and Robert resided in Baltimore and retired to Gainesville, GA in 1982.

She was the loving mother of Wayne Richard Guerke of Tifton, GA and Jennifer Lynn Litwiller of Raleigh, NC, and grandmother to Stephen and Brian Litwiller and Cindy Litwiller-Newman.

A devoted homemaker to her family, Beatrice loved to cook, sew, garden and oil paint.

Beatrice was a long-time member of Chapelgate United Presbyterian Church, Catonsville, MD and later Westminister Presbyterian Church, Gainesville, GA. She joined the First Baptist Church of Tifton in 2005.

She moved to Tifton, GA in 1998 to live with her loving son, Wayne and daughter-in-law, Janet Retterbush-Guerke. She later resided at Maple Court Senior Residence in Tifton and Ross Memorial Health Care Center.

A graveside funeral will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery, Gainesville, GA on January 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm, where she will be buried alongside her husband. The Rev.
