Johnnie Elizabeth McDuffie Shubert

Mrs. Johnnie Elizabeth McDuffie Shubert, age 86, of Commerce, GA died Saturday, January 03, 2015 at Brighter Mornings. Mrs. Shubert was born in Commerce to the late John and Leona Moore McDuffie. She was a member of Gillsville Baptist Church and was retired from General Time. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shubert was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer S. Shubert.
Mrs. Shubert is survived by her sons, Don Shubert of Maysville and Ronnie Shubert of Commerce; sisters, Betty McClung and Dorothy Mizell both of Commerce and Winnie Roach of Fayetteville; brothers, Leon McDuffie of Commerce, Joe McDuffie of Maysville and Gene McDuffie of Commerce; grandchildren, Brooke Shubert Dalton, Adam Shubert, Ashleigh Shubert Mealor, Brodie Shubert, Heath Jones and Chasity Jones Faubion; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 PM, Monday, January 5 at Gillsville Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Calhoun, Rev. Jeff Morgan, Mr. Don Shubert, Mr. Adam Shubert and Rev. Shannon Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 5 PM and 6 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gillsville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 416, Gillsville, GA 30543.
