Frank A. Falconero

Obituary Date: Thursday, January 1, 2015
Frank A. Falconero was born in Italy on May 29, 1918. Papo passed away New Year's morning 2015, 96+ years young. Papo's family came to America in 1922 through Ellis Island and settled in Milwaukee, WI. Frank's family insisted that the children become Americans, limiting their use of Italian. Frank was a proud American, with strong core values centering around God, Country and Family. Frank, full of energy and drive, was constantly 'doing' until a gutter-cleaning back flip off the roof reminded him that he was 84 and maybe someone else could start doing some of those chores. Even as a young boy, Frank worked to help support his family, settling into a career with the Louis-Allis Company. During the War years, Frank was proud of having wound super quiet submarine motors for the war effort. In 1961, Frank and Dorothy moved to Gainesville GA to work for the Leece-Neville Company, also making motors. At 96, Frank is preceded in death by most of his friends and family, especially his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Inda Falconero (d:11.25.2007); married May 25,1940.

Papo is survived by a sister, Katherine Bernardi of Fort Lauderdale, FL, a sister in-law, Dorothy Inda of Tampa, FL, three daughters and their families: Alice Slapinskas, Joyce and Les Zemba of Huntley, IL and Mary and Craig Dyer of Hartwell, GA. Grandchildren are Lester and Kathy Hayes Zemba, Ann and Andy Chica, Dustin and Laura Dyer, Jodi and Matthew Turner. Frank and Dorothy have 8 Great Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Sandi and Roland Archer of Odessa, FL were wonderful with helping Frank and Dorothy travel in their golden years.

The family would like to thank wonderful neighbors in the Looper Lake area for being there with all manner of support over the years: the Baltes', the Waldrop's, the Carr's, the Hulsey's and many others from Church and community that we apologetically cannot name. We most especially wish to thank the fantastic and supportive people of Autumn Breeze Assisted Living and Hospice of Northeast Georgia for the care and loving support that made Frank's transition from this life to his eternal home as smooth as possible. Your calling in life is truly a blessing. Anyone wishing to make a memorial gift, please seek out one of these organizations.
