Pashie Payne Towery

Pashie Payne Towery, age 84, of Clarkesville, passed away on January 1, 2015.

Born on July 4, 1930, in Alto, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Lemuel and Tressie Morris Payne. Mrs. Towery was a member of New Hope Baptist Church as well as The Order of the Eastern Star and was self employed in house cleaning for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts and singing gospel music.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Towery; brothers, Harmon, Bunyon, Rayge and Blandon Payne; sisters, Altia Gerrin, Sarah Anspach, Elizabeth Payne and Montine Chambers.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail and Orval Farmer of Clarkesville; son, Victor and Amy Towery of Cornelia; step son, Michael Towery of South Carolina; step daughter, Wanda Banks of South Carolina; sisters, Mary Lomax of Alto and Bonnie Loggins of Cleveland; grandchildren, Fonda Chapman, Alessandro Salvaturi Towery, Vittoria Elisavetta Towery, Lisa Hogan and Calvin and Waylon Otis; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Austin Kelley, Rev. Luther Williams and Rev. Chris York officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Keith Chambers officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
