Henry Anderson Mize

Mr. Henry Anderson Mize, age 89, of Maysville, GA died Thursday, January 01, 2015 at Northridge Health and Rehab.

Henry was born May 10, 1925 in Anderson, SC. He was the son of the late Ernest B. and Icie (Ayers) Mize. Henry served in the United States Army in World War II. He was superintendent and project manager for commercial buildings all over the country. He, with his band, were inducted into the Macon Music Hall of Fame and he won numerous awards for "barn storming" all over the country in his plane. Henry was an avid golfer and a faithful supporter of Banks County basketball and was known as the "bubble gum man". He was a gentleman and loved by many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Talmadge Mize, Horace Mize, E.B. Mize; sisters, Mrs. Eugene English (Evelyn Mize), Mrs. Sears Bray (Gladys Mize), Mrs. Luther Sheridan (Clarine Mize).

Henry is survived by special aunts, many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, January 3 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. James Dumas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 2405 Hwy 51 S, Lula, GA 30554.
